William Shatner has become the oldest person to attempt to reach space as he has taken off onboard a Blue Origin rocket along with three other astronauts.

The spacecraft was delayed by about fifty minutes due to high winds but launched at about 3:50pm BST this afternoon.

The four person crew is travelling 62 miles up, the internationally recognised boundary of space, before floating back down to Earth. The flight will last around 11 minutes and the crew will experience zero gravity during their flight.
